P3s: The Ins and Outs of Public Private Partnerships
Hosted by the E. J. Ourso College of Business at LSU and the Urban Land Institute – Louisiana District
This three-hour symposium has been programmed to help you plan successful Public Private Partnerships or P3s. The program will present a keynote introduction and two panel discussions with participation from public sector representatives, local advisors, attorneys, finance, and non-profit professionals for attendees to deepen their understanding of the value of P3s and the role they can play in the project.
Our local participating panelists will provide firsthand experience on either complete or active P3s of different structures. This variety of case studies will show how diverse P3 projects can be, and the different value propositions and associated risks each can bring.
Attendees who are unfamiliar with P3s will gain introductory knowledge and valuable insights that will aid in future business decisions. Those with more experience will benefit from gaining deeper insights into project complexity and delivery methods.
Dedicated breaks will allow attendees to network and connect with the symposium participants. The day ends with a social gathering to continue networking opportunities.
Part 1: Introductions and P3 101 basics.
Part 2: Panel discussion from experienced P3 professionals providing insights and experience from their projects, ending with Q&A.
Part 3: Panel discussion focused on understanding the impacts of federal tax reform, state and local municipality outlook and challenges, and LSU’s plan on leveraging future P3s.
