Tropical Storm Karen

As Tropical Storm Karen develops in the Gulf of Mexico, heavy rain and storms are predicted to affect the area over the weekend.  To ensure the safety of all ULI members, ULI Louisiana has decided to postpone the Tour de NOLA Bicycle Tour scheduled tomorrow.  The event will be rescheduled for a later date.  Most storm models indicate projected landfall east of New Orleans somewhere along the Gulf Coast of the United States on Sunday morning, with two to four inches of rain anticipated and sustained winds of 25-35 mph, with … Read More

ULI Louisiana Wins $10,000 Urban Innovation Grant

The Urban Land Institute of Louisiana (ULI) recently was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Urban Land Institute’s Urban Innovation Fund to launch an open ideas competition called  [Imagine Downtown] Lafayette.   In partnership with Creative Action Acadiana (CA) and The Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) the objective of the open ideas competition is to shape dialogue surrounding future creative and economic growth within six downtown sites in Lafayette, Louisiana, with the ultimate goal of generating a sustainable vision for Lafayette’s downtown district.
