Homewood Suites French Quarter – A Strategic Private Investment in a Broader Neighborhood Transformation

HRI Properties (HRI) developed the 207-room Homewood Suites Hotel to demonstrate that this area immediately adjacent to the French Quarter, which had suffered from decades of disinvestment, was poised for large-scale reinvestment.  Necessitated by its pioneering nature, this development was supported by a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) incentive from the Industrial Development Board (IDB) of the City of New Orleans, but was otherwise privately funded.  The new construction hotel building utilized a resilient construction methodology of pre-cast concrete including its load bearing exterior walls.  Its location and architectural … Read More
